Cobra Starship....what happened?

Cobra Starship have released two disappointing new songs. When they first came out back in 2006 with their star studded hit "Bring It (Snakes on a Plane)" their music consisted of fun pop punk music with a little bit of dance and hip hop thrown in. Their debut album was fresh and new and hooked them a lot of new fans. After their second and third albums became more and more dance influenced the band lost some of their edge. But with their new single "You Make Me Feel" features guest vocals by Sabi a new female rapper best known for being featured on Britney Spears' new album. The song features a beat that sounds like something off of Katy Perry's latest album and features cheesy lyrics about a couple trying to get together.

Their other new song is called "Don't Blame The World, It's The DJ's Fault." This song is a boring dance pop number about nothing. Cobra have always had a bit of edge to them and it seems as though ever since they've gotten mainstream success with their top 40 hit "Good Girls Go Bad," the band are trying to get that again. Trying a bit too hard in fact. They've lost what made them good to begin with. Hopefully the rest of their fourth studio album "Night Shades" won't follow suit with these first two songs but this former fan isn't going to hold his breath.
