Light This City NEED to get back together

There are few melodic death metal bands on the same level as Light This City. In the short six years the band were together they released four studio albums and recieved critical acclaim. The band broke up in 2008 and played several reunion shows. This band are just too good to stay broken up. Everything about the band is just flawless. From frontwoman Laura Nicol's death metal growls to the instrumentation and the music, which was composed by the only other band member to be in Light This City besides for Nicol, guitarist and drummer Ben Murray. The lyrics, written by Nicol always hit some sort of emotion. Nicol used her powerful screams to really make you feel exactly what she was saying. Her lyrics often pull at one's heartstrings.

"You used to spread your wings only when no one was looking. And when you finally trusted me enough to reveal them, I slowly ripped them off. What have I done? Who now will carry me to heaven when this life is over?" Nicol screams in the opening track from the band's debut album "The Hero Cycle." The sorrow in her voice as she screams is almost too much to handle.

Another great thing about the band is their music. The music was so heavy, the listener's eardrums were assaulted by drums and guitar and bass.

After Light This City broke up Nicol and Murray went on to form a punk band called HeartSounds. This band is pretty good but they lack the amazing sound of Light This City. This band was epic. This blog is a request to Light This City, get back together. The metal world needs you.
